88rising made history this past weekend at Coachella. As a company that features mainly Asian artists, they were the first label to get an official slot to showcase all of its artists for four songs. So what did they do? They blew people’s minds with an 80-minute power set and then did a reunion that sparked the most chatter online for Head in the Clouds Forever. To top things off, they released a three-song EP afterward.

Warren Hue got the crowd moving right from the jump as he performed his four-song medley first. Next up was Thailand’s MILLI, who is skyrocketing in every metric possible. She even stopped to have a bite of mango sticky rice before blasting into her song of the same name.

BIBI was next and brought out Koren Hip Hop queen Yoon Mi-rae for their killer collab ‘The Weekend.’ NIKI brought some guests that weren’t too Hip Hop. She came to play her songs with a 15-piece orchestra.

The leader of the pack, Rich Brian, showed up and proved why everyone wants a piece of him. As the only artist who got five songs, Brian debuted ‘froyo’ to a delighted crowd. HIKARU UTADA was amazing, but Jackson Wang is made for the main stage at Coachella. He did four songs, including his latest ‘Blow’ with a gang of dancers, and then brought Rich Brian and Warren Hu out for their collab, ‘California.’

Just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier to have Asian music past, present, and future on the stage, CL came out and did her thing. After warming the crowd up with ‘Spicy’ and two other jams, she welcomed her three sisters from 2NE1 for a closing performance of ‘I AM THE BEST.’ For KPop and KHop fans, this was a dream come true since 2NE1 was supposed to be broken up for good and now they were back on the stage making dreams come true.

88rising knows what their fans want and always gives it to them. This time, they outdid themselves by doing it on the main stage at one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
