Joe Flizzow’s 16 Baris returns for Season 3
The rap cypher series has seen some of the best in South East Asia spitting hot 16s
First starting out in 2017, Joe Flizzow’s rap cypher show 16 Baris will make a return very soon. Set in the acclaimed Malaysian rapper’s barbershop, ‘Joe’s Barbershop’ - the episodic series features rappers, both established and emerging, from different parts of Southeast Asia to showcase their lyrical prowess over 16 bars.
Ever since its inception, we’ve seen the likes of K-Main, Yung Raja, Fariz Jabba, MK, Lil Asian Thiccie, and so much more, killing it over beats by DJ CZA on the 1s and 2s. Their episodes have garnered millions of views over the years.
The platform created by Flizzow gave these rappers a chance to exhibit their artistry, and at the same time, helped Hip Hop listeners discover new acts from the Southeast Asian region. 16 Baris was also given a nod of approval by none other than Snoop Dogg himself, who called it a “dope show with unsigned international rappers.”
On September 25, Flizzow took to Instagram to announce that season 3 of 16 Baris will be dropping soon. The announcement came via a video, which shows the rapper walking into his barbershop and closing it’s shutters - which he does in every intro of an episode. However, no release dates or artists that would be featured have been announced yet. But one thing’s for sure, we’re in for a treat.
