Fresh off an MTV EMA nomination for Best Southeast Asia Act in 2021, Malaysia’s Naim Daniel continues his ascent as one of the country’s premier musical exports. What better way to mark a new evolution in his career than a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Malaysian Hip Hop legend Joe Flizzow in ‘Habis Sini’.

Produced by Mas Dewanga and SonaOne, the single is a melodic Trap banger that rebels against people who use their time to undermine others. The bleak nature of the beat lends itself to Naim and Joe’s seething irritation against the haters. Yet, the song still manages to retain the usual tenderness we’d come to expect from Naim as well. “It has always been my dream to have a song that combines Hip Hop and ballads,” Naim said in a press statement.

In its music video, the duo takes to the empty streets of Kuala Lumpur. A bloodied Naim rides in on a horse while Joe, decked in an all-white fit, makes his appearance in a Chevrolet El Camino. Under the shade of the night, both artists trade verses and show off their chemistry together while standing alongside the iconic Merdeka Square and the colonial-era shops the city is known for.

Naim Daniel is currently preparing his debut album, a collection of nine to 10 tracks, which is likely to be released in 2022.
