Vannda started from សូន្យ & now he’s here on ‘J+O ZERO III’

It was a big week for the Cambodian superstar

Cambodian rapper Vannda has had a big week. To celebrate his 28th birthday, Vannda put out a video, ‘J+O ZERO III,’ and he had a two-day listening party on the run-up to his third album at AEON Mall Mean Chey.

In less than four years, Vannda has gone from a street rapper to a superstar. In ‘J+O ZERO III,’ Vannda reminds people that he started from សូន្យ [zero]. Vannda’s meteoric rise began when ‘Time to Rise’ popped off. Since that special collab with Master Kang Noy [RIP], everything Vannda has touched has turned to gold.

In ‘J+O ZERO III,’ Vannda produces the beats, writes the lyrics, arranges the tracks, engineers the recording, and even mixes and masters the song. He’s an all-in-one machine going full steam ahead. The video for the song has a Matrix-like feel, with some added intrigue and mystery.

On January 24 and 25, Vannda had a listening experience for his fans, which was billed as a road to his third album. For two days, people piled in and got to hear the first snippets and songs from Vannda’s latest work. The video and the parties were a reminder that only a couple of years ago Vannda was at zero, but now he’s here.
