Trying to do a massive event during any stage of a pandemic can be extremely difficult. The Whats Good Music Awards 2022 in Hong Kong was hoping and persisted to the last minute, but the decision has been made to delay their first-ever awards show with the omicron variant of COVID-19 spreading rapidly in Hong Kong, Asia, and the world, On Wednesday, January 27, they put out a notice on Instagram informing their fans of the postponement.

The statement starts, “In order to cooperate with the government's Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation, and taking into account of the health and safety of all audiences and participants, we have to announce that the "Whats Good Music Awards" originally scheduled to be held on February 8, 2022 at the Hall5BC of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will be postponed to the period from May to July of this year."

While Whats Good knows that many people will be disappointed because they were looking forward to having an awards show focused on Hip Hop and R&B, they also know that people are understanding that these things are out of their hands. Once things calm down with COVID-19, Whats Good will announce the new dates for the awards show.
