Brodha V is an OG’s OG. He’s been in and around the Indian Hip Hop scene since he started participating in online text rap battles in 2008. Since then, he’s gone on to become one of the most respected lyricists in the game. After a year’s hiatus, Brodha V is back in full force with his introspective ‘All Divine,’ a song that has more than 1.5 million views in 24 hours since it’s release.

‘All Divine’ is Brodha V at his finest. With his verses in English, he shows off his lyrical dexterity right from the get-go. “Like emus trying to soar and get a peek at the summit/When you come from the bottom, you only dream on a budget” is tough, because there just aren’t many Hip Hop songs with references to emus, let alone in the first line. He also tosses out a political bar about the instability of the border between Pakistan and India which is extra dope, “Anxiety got me all unstable like the Khyber pass/My vision twitches with palpitations like hypеrlapse.”

The video for ‘All Divine’ shows some old footage of Brodha V writing, recording, and doing live shows projected over him rapping the new song now. He soon is frustrated by these memories and heads into the jungles to clear his head. It’s in the forest that he finds waterfalls, fresh air, and mountaintop that lure him back to Hip Hop.

Even though he has been in the game for a decade-plus, like a backpack rapper with a top-notch pen game, an exquisite vocabulary, and something to prove, Brodha V shows the world why he is so well-regarded with ‘All Divine.’
