The last two years have been a whirlwind for Lee Seung-hoon. At the age of 16, he was an underground rapper and started releasing tracks on Soundcloud as TRADE L. These tracks caught the ear of Korea’s big fish, Jay Park, and soon he was H1GHER MUSIC’s youngest signee. Once on the label, TRADE L had verses on eight tracks on the compilation album H1GHR: Red Tape and two verses on H1GHR: Blue Tape.

With his lyrical dexterity and quotable verses, TRADE L was building a reputation with his stand-out tracks on these albums. He then joined MNET’s High School Rapper 4, and blew away the competition to become the champion. If that’s not enough, his first solo EP is out today, Time Table-The Trip, and it’s is a six-song sonic memoir of teenage life.

Did we mention TRADE L is only 17?

“It’s a unique story for myself because everyone finds their own roads and directions differently,” TRADE L said in a press release about Time Table-The Trip. On the EP, TRADE L focuses on his bustling teenage life while making a lot of noise in the Korean music industry. The first track, ‘Gotham,’ throws the gauntlet down as TRADE L goes in hard over a Flamenco guitar with Reggaeton sensibilities. ‘I Hate U’ is radio-friendly and ready for Korean dancefloors. ‘Tango’ is a Trapped-out posse cut that brings out CAMO and Ourrealgoat for some fun. The other three tracks are shiny Hip Pop tracks that are ready to take TRADE L to the moon.

If he wasn’t a superstar before this EP, Time Table-The Trip proves that the sky is truly the limit for TRADE L.
