Singapore prepares for first big Hip Hop show in 2 years

The Majulah Live X It’s a Rap concert this Saturday guarantees a good time

Everybody in the house say “YEAH!”

“YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAH”

Being trapped in a worldwide pandemic where people are encouraged to stay at home has been harrowing for even the most introverted people. For those that live and breathe live music, especially the sweaty masses of bodies slamming into each other at crowded Hip Hop shows, it’s been excruciating. Twitch had its time. Online concerts are OK. Even shows on Fortnite with superstars like Travis Scott are amazing, but it’s incomparable to seeing an MC rock a crowd in person.

This Saturday, for the first time in two years, Singaporean Hip Hip gets to shine on the bright stage of the Marina Bay Sands Theater for the Mujulah Live X It’s a Rap concert. It’s not just one or two artists, either. Instead, the whole who's who of Hip Hop in Singapore is in the building including Yung Raja, Shigga Shay, A$EOP CA$H, Rriley, Sheikh Haikel, Fariz Jabba, Feez, Jon Chu JX, Joy Alexis, and Rangga Jones.

Since there have been so few Hip Hop shows, expect everyone to bring out all their friends. Comedy and Hip Hop go hand in hand so between sets Fakkah Fuzz, Jacky Ng, and Qamarul Haziq will be telling jokes and making people laugh. This event is presented by Red Spade Entertainment, Base Entertainment, Zendyll Music, Drink Entertainment, with support from the National Youth Council.

Last week in Indonesia, RAMENGVRL had her first hometown show in a long time. This week, Singapore will have a massive concert. Who knows what will happen next week, but one sure thing is that everyone in the house will be saying “YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!”
