The Silk Sonic singer can do it all

At four minutes and 10 seconds into BTS’ Proof Live session, Anderson .Paak joins the Korean superstars for a rousing rendition of ‘Yet to Come,’ a soulful R&B ballad. This song was part of a 25-minute live performance of Proof, a three-disc anthology album released on June 10.

Anderson is known for his multifaceted musical career as a rapper, a drummer, a producer, and soon-to-be a director. He’s worked with legendary acts such as Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Bruno Mars in his funk group Soul Sonic. His happy-go-lucky personality shows through in all of his work and he’s becoming one of the biggest artists in the world. Over the past few years, Anderson has won eight Grammys and has been holding down a residency in Las Vegas 10 nights a month.

In ‘Yet to Come,’ Anderson hits the skins while the Korean crooners do their thing. After the song ends, he comes out and talks to the group a bit and surprises them when he speaks a bit of Korean to them. Anderson tells them he thinks ‘Yet to Come’ sounds like church. He goes on to say that his son turned him on to the Kpop superstars and he’s been ARMY ever since.
