YAO unites Awich, One OK Rock, Chico Carlito & Paledusk on '777'
The debut project pairs Japan's Rap elite with its heaviest Rock acts
YAO's debut project, '777,' brings together four artists who rarely share a track: Awich, ONE OK ROCK, CHICO CARLITO, and Paledusk. It's a genuine crossover rather than a guest-verse formality as each act gets real room to make the song theirs.
The sound splits down genre lines and lets them collide. Awich brings her commanding, controlled delivery, while CHICO CARLITO answers with sharper, denser wordplay. ONE OK ROCK supplies arena-sized Rock hooks, and Paledusk pushes the track into heavier, more experimental Metalcore territory, with screamed passages sitting right next to sung ones. It's loud by design with four distinct lanes that never quite blend into one.
The video matches that energy visually, cutting between school-delinquent uprisings and protest imagery, carrying an anti-war, love-and-peace message underneath the noise.
This isn't the first time the four have shared a stage. Awich and CHICO CARLITO joined ONE OK ROCK and Paledusk earlier this month for Red Bull's Nu Metal showcase IN-YO!, and that same chemistry carries straight into '777,' now their first proper release together.
