18-year-old Taiwanese dancer Una Lin wins Red Bull Dance Your Style qualifier
“I just wanna have fun & connect to the music.”
Two years ago, Una Lin’s family moved to New York City from Taiwan. Two weeks ago, she entered the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition for the first time as an 18-year-old dancer. On Saturday, May 23, she won the qualifier and will be heading to the USA finals in Tampa Bay, Florida, with a chance to represent the US at the World Finals in Switzerland in October.
Dance Your Style is unpredictable because the DJ can drop any music in any style for the contestants and they have to instantly react to the songs. The newbie won the crowd over when she danced to Cortez’s K-hop smash ‘Go.’ In an interview after qualifying for the US final, Una said, “I just want to have fun, connect to the music, connect to the audience, and show my style.”
