Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me twice, shame on me
While Kanye West has used social media to be embedded in the news as good as anyone not named Donald Trump, people who are booking him for millions of dollars for festivals have to think twice about it. First, one week before Coachella returned this April, Kanye pulled out with no explanation. The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia were his replacements. Now, with only a few days to go before he’s supposed to headline the biggest Hip Hop show in the world, Rolling Loud Miami, on the opening night, he canceled. Again, he didn’t give any reason for canceling. Kid Cudi has been slated to take his spot.
Organizers for Rolling Loud posted on Twitter, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Kanye West will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022. Please help us welcome Kid Cudi.”
2022 is only a little more than halfway over, and Kanye has dumped two of the most influential festivals by the wayside. Any event that has booked him as a headliner has to be wary that they will look like fools around a week ahead of time.
In one of the coldest burns in Twitter history, user $FreeGrizz commented that Ye wouldn’t show up at Rolling Loud on the day he was announced as one of the three headliners. In what goes down as a horrible publicity move, Rolling Loud’s Twitter responded, “and when he does, you’re going to be home mad af” that same day. Luckily, their social media person smartened up by tweeting ‘Pain’ at the tweet and owning the self-own.
Kanye not coming lmao
