RedBall project pops out in Hong Kong in December
Hong Kong will be the 48th city on the world tour
Hong Kong has been getting a lot of the good art exhibitions over the past few years. KAWS’ Companion was chilling in the harbor in 2019. In 2023, people saw two with the Double Ducks by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. Later this year, from December 6 to 15, Hong Kong will see the world’s longest-running street artwork, the RedBall Project, by American artist Kurt Perschke.
For 10 days, a giant red ball will wedge into local architecture from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island. This will prompt people to reflect on their cultural surroundings and create fresh perspectives of familiar places. Plus, the RedBall project is PERFECT for selfies!
With 47 stops all over the globe since 2001, the RedBall Project has been to places as far as Paris, France to Saskatoon, Canada to places as close as Tainan, Taiwan and Shanghai, China. In mid-November, the list of 10 places the RedBall Project will be at will be announced. Each day will be different as there will be brand partnerships, artist collabs, and fun activities for the whole family.
