High School Rapper Osshun Gum convicted of child molestation
The former Just Music rapper has a history of mental illness
On April 27, a former contestant on Mnet’s High School Rapper was convicted of molesting a 9-year-old child. Osshun Gum’s lawyer said that the rapper playfully smacked the kid’s on the bottom while trying to play a game of “pick and eat the poo.”
The lawyer went on to claim that Osshun has had a history of mental illness because of the failure of his music career. The rapper had gone back to his hometown and was found lying nude in the street one time. Then, he took a taxi to Busan, where he accosted the child. Afterward, Osshun was sent to a mental institution for 70 days.
Since the molestation was not sexual in nature, Osshun asked for the court’s leniency. “Once again, I sincerely apologize for hurting the victim and his family,” Osshun said. “If you give me a chance to recover, I want to help society with the music that I wish to make in the future.”
A trial will be held in June for Osshun’s sentencing.
