From FamilyMart to NYC, Miyachi is the ‘HERO’ we all need

The Japanese rapper keeps it real wherever he goes

Miyachi and FamilyMarts go together like peanut butter and jelly. In 2021, the Japanese MC was letting loose in a FamilyMart for his single, ‘CHU-HI.’ In the years since, he’s been seen interviewing people outside FamilyMarts and making songs with the jingle as well. Sponsorship from FamilyMart is a no-brainer for both parties.

‘HERO,’ Miyachi’s latest single, starts out in his favorite convenience store. Although Miyachi is known for his zaniness, the black and white close-up signals that ‘HERO’ is going to be a bit different this time around. To illustrate this shift, he begins in his typical salaryman gear and gets to rapping. Then, transitioning to a new scene, Miyachi appears in a white tee at a barber shop in New York. This setting change shows he’s an everyman and that Hip Hop builds a [Brooklyn?] bridge to anywhere in the globe.

About three-fourths of the way through, the beat flips from his dark Trap beat to a lighter and more colorful interlude showing that he’s back in Miyachi mode. Wildly underrated, Miyachi is a ‘HERO’ because he excels at doing his own thing.
