Quest Studio’s Mic Check Two documents the actualization of the Whats Good Awards
The biggest dreams face the hardest challenges
When something is too easy, it sometimes doesn’t feel worth it. When something is really hard, one has to work for it; when it succeeds, the feeling is extra special. The Whats Good Music Awards 2022 finally happened on August 6, 2022, and it was a momentous day for Hong Kong and Asian Hip Hop in general.
In April, Quest Studios put out part 1 of a documentary focused on the Whats Good Music Awards 2022. At the end of part 1, Phat and his crew are devastated that the government is shutting down Hong Kong as the rest of the world is opening up after two years of a pandemic. Phat also revealed that his father had cancer and it was good that the inaugural awards would have to be postponed.
In Part Two, released on November 23, Phat and others face an endless barrage of chaos, which would break normal people. But the loss, controversy, and tragedy that happen on camera only make them more determined to put on a hell of a show. There’s no turning back. There’s no stopping this indomitable team.
Like Hip Hop, which was created out of nothing and turned into a global phenomenon, the Whats Good Music Awards 2022 started as an idea and changed the way the music industry will look at awards shows from now on.
Quest’s 30-minute documentary gives a truthful look at the pain and suffering it takes to do something big. A lot of times, the biggest dreams face the hardest challenges.
