Like everyone affected by the pandemic, Hip Hop superstar Lizzo is just excited to get out of the house and get on with life. On BBC Radio1’s Live Lounge, she grabbed a full band and got funky with BTS’ KPop summer smash ‘Butter.’

Lizzo takes the song and instantly makes it her own. She’s got a distinctive sound and voice that pops off the screen as soon as she shows up. Her six-piece band consisting of all Black women in white adds some funk to ‘Butter’ that is desperately missing from the OG, especially when they start sidestepping.

In banter with BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge’s DJ, Lizzo said, “I love the song. I love how positive their music is. I love how funky it is. I’m singing it around the house anyway, so I might as well sing it on the Live Lounge.”

Lizzo also performs her hit, ‘Rumors’ minus Cardi B, saying, “I’m super ready to perform this. I’ve been waiting for a long time. This is my first filmed performance of this song, so I’m so excited to show the world how well we can perform it.”
