COVID-19 has held nightlife hostage for more than a year and a half in many places around the globe. The DMC World DJ Championships have taken this downtime and flipped its annual competition on its head. The long-running contest has eight categories this year including new events like the DMC World All Vinyl Championship, DMC World Scratch Championship, and DMC World Numark Portabalist Championship that people have been asking about for many years. This year’s prestigious DMC Battle for World Supremacy will go from September 1 to October 16.

On August 31 at 7 PM, Japanese DJ champions like OGs DJ Ta-shi, DJ Kentaro, and DJ Izoh plus younger generations DJs like DJ Rena, DJ Yuto, DJ Satoshi, and DJ Matsunaga, as well as the all-vinyl champion DJ Yukichi and DJ Iku, DJ 14, and DARTHREIDER will all be featured on the DMC Summit sponsored by Manhattan Portage and shown live at Dommune’s YouTube Channel.

The Japanese DJs will give talks about new products, the history of the DMCs as well as where the battle is going in the present and the future. Of course, with all these DJs getting together in one place, they will be getting some time behind the decks and doing the magic that they do. Even if you are not a DMC fan, it should be an entertaining event if you love DJ culture.

You can watch the DMC Summit at Dommune’s page here or their YouTube Channel here.
