BAD HOP releases final album before last-ever performance in Tokyo Dome
The Japanese Rap collective has been releasing music videos every day
In 2023, the Japanese Hip Hop collective BAD HOP announced that they would be disbanding in 2024 after 10 years of being together. The eight-piece outfit from Kawasaki has been at the forefront of the Japanese Hip Hop scene ever since they exploded in 2015, but alas, all good things must come to an end.
They are going out with a bang, that’s for sure. On February 19, they performed their last concert as BAD HOP at the Tokyo Dome, Japan’s largest baseball stadium. The lead up to that final show has been nothing short of glorious.
On February 9, they released BAD HOP, an eight-track album, alongside its deluxe version, BAD HOP [BHG EDITION], which features an additional seven tracks. Since the album’s release, they have been steadily dropping music videos every day as of the time of writing.
The latest of the lot is for ‘Day N Night’, which features BAD HOP’s G-k.i.d alongside guca owl and KEIJU. It’s a three and a half minute of straight laid-back grooves, which the three MCs completely glide over.
G-k.i.d opens the track up, setting pace for guca owl to follow in the second verse, culminating with a final verse from the young MC KEIJU, who announces himself in the calmest and coolest fashion.
