88rising’s Head in the Clouds 2023 will take place in New York for the first time

It’s scheduled to happen on May 20 & 21

2022 was an eventful year when it came to festivals for the Asian-American record label, 88rising. Not only did they have their very own showcase during the famed Coachella, they’ve also brought their Head In the Clouds festival overseas - Jakarta and Manila to be exact – an effort that was delayed for two years due to COVID.

On March 13, 88rising announced that New York will be the grounds for their festivities this year. The first iteration of the festival took place in 2018 in Los Angeles, and then moved over to Pasadena, California in 2021.

This would mark the very first time that Head in the Clouds takes place on the East Coast. It’s slated to take place at the Forest Hills Stadium [which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year] on May 20 and 21, coinciding with Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month in the United States.

The lineup includes artists from the 88rising roster and beyond. The artists announced are AKINI JING, ATARASHII GAKKO!, beabadoobee, DABIN, DPR IAN, DPR LIVE, Dumbfounded, Fifi Zhang, Hojean, ISOXO, ITZY, KNOCK2, LØREN, Masiwei, MILLI, NIKI, P-Lo, Paravi, Raveena, Rich Brian, Spence Lee, Veegee, Warren Hue, Wolftya, XG, and Yeek.

In other recent news, XG became the first Japanese female artists and group to chart in the US Radio Top 40 in the US earlier this month. They’ve proven that they can do more than just sing, alongside kicking off their 2023 mightily with their first single. We have no doubt that they will kill it in New York come May.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 17 at 10 AM Eastern time. Check out the Head in the Clouds website here for more ticketing information.
