In Jakarta, there are a whole lot of spots to pregame the Head In The Clouds weekend or to keep the bender going till Tuesday. Or maybe you’re thinking of crate digging for some records or copping some vintage gear? Whatever it may be, LiFTED has you covered.

CLUBS

The entertainment industry took a big hit when the pandemic came, and many nightclubs from all over the world bore the full brunt of it. With social distancing regulations being enforced, the dancefloor was a place one could only imagine being at. Thankfully, the world is moving past that, and life is slowly returning back to normalcy. What better way to get the party started than to hit the club?

Colosseum Jakarta

Colosseum is one of Jakarta’s largest clubs, with a space encompassing over 1,000 square meters. You know that feeling when you’re sandwiched in a packed dancefloor, almost breathless at times? There’s no need to worry about this when you’re there. The nightclub plays an eclectic mix of sounds and has brilliant reviews from punters and international DJs alike. Get on the party bus and head over after day one.

The Swillhouse

Big spaces aren’t something you fancy? The Swillhouse might be a better choice for your night out then. The space was originally called Hide and Seek before the Indonesian lifestyle and entertainment company SwillFam took over it. Now, it’s a dedicated space for all that Hip Hop and R&B goodness, which makes it the perfect spot for an after-HITC boogie.

Record Stores

The thing about going to a record store in a new country is that you never know what you are going to get. For certain people, crate-digging is nearly a religious experience if the spots and the prices are right. Going digging in the morning may make some people miss the first few acts at HITC.

Andi Twins Music

With cassettes, vinyl records, and CDs, Andi Twins Music has it all. If you’re looking for physical copies of seminal bodies of work, this is the place for you. Jazz classics, Pop hits of the 80s, and a myriad of records by Indonesian and international acts all line the shelves. The folks over at Andi Twins Music also run their own YouTube channel where they invite artists over to their shop and talk about the history of their music.

Atlas Records

If it’s current and newer records you seek, Atlas Records is for you. The three-story space not only houses a selection of crates to dig from, but also a coffeehouse nestled on the first floor. Get some records and then grab a fresh drink and admire your vinyl purchases.

Vintage Shops

Are you looking for the ‘90s Adidas pullover in neon colors that you haven’t seen on anyone? How about some Jordan 4s with the multi-color sole? You may have to dig, but what better way to spend the money that you didn’t spend at HITC?

Primetime Jakarta

Vintage football jerseys? 90s Hip Hop tees? Classic sneakers? Primetime Jakarta has it all in their locker. The store is packed with hidden gems, and there’s so much to see. The store also offers patrons the option to sell and trade their wares, so if you’re looking to give your pre-loved goods a new life, head over to Primetime Jakarta.

The name of the establishment speaks for itself and all that it offers. When you think of a thrift store, instinctively, a small space comes to mind. But Vintage Vibes Thrift Shop offers a huge space filled with not only clothes and sneakers, but also products like speakers, cameras, bags, furniture, and more.
