Global music collective 88rising will be holding a virtual benefit concert with Netflix on May 26 for Asian American and Pacific Islander [AAPI] heritage month. It will be available to watch via 88rising’s YouTube channel, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms at 7 PM PST.

Titled Asia Rising Together, the concert will be attended by many prominent artists from all over the world, which includes US-based Indonesian singer NIKI, Japanese girl group Atarashii Gakko!, Korean-American rapper Tiger JK, Japanese-American singer Audrey Mika, Chinese-American artist mxmtoon, and Korean singer Seori and more. Korean rapper CL, former 2NE1 member, will also make an appearance as a special guest with American rappers RZA and Dumbfoundead.

Japanese-American singer Audrey Mika said it was a really unique livestream centered around family and culture and felt really special to share her Japanese roots on the platform. She hoped the concert could encourage everyone to chase their dreams, stay true to themselves and be proud of who they are in the process.

The livestream will fundraise for the Asian Mental Health Collective, which aims to eliminate mental health problems in the Asian American communities. It is one of several 88rising initiatives for AAPI heritage month. Other events include a special radio program launched on the 88rising SiriusXM app this month to celebrate AAPI individuals.
