Three European 2022 Cult of Ya Fest dates canceled
The all-Korean musical lineup of rappers and DJs is the pandemic’s latest victim
With the Omicron variant of COVID-19 zooming around the world like Flash, many of the gains that nightlife has had over the past few months have been erased. Clubs, bars, and festivals were forced to cancel their biggest money night of the year, New Year’s Eve, and try and figure out how to survive in 2022.
London is currently getting smashed by Omicron with a seven-day average of nearly 140,000 daily cases, far surpassing any wave before it. The 2022 Cult of Ya Fest, featuring an all-Korean lineup of rappers and DJs, canceled all three shows that were supposed to happen in January in London, Paris, and Amsterdam. The Cult of Ya Fest cited increasing restrictions on live events, the frustration of international travel for the UK, the Netherlands, and France, as well as the difficulty of rescheduling for the dates.
The Cult of Ya Fest was headlined by South Korean artists SIK-K, Groovyroom, Gemini, Mirani, Moon Sujin, SMMT, and CO.KR. Refunds for the show will be made within 10 days at the same places people bought their tickets from.
