Ben Utomo is a household name in Indonesia’s Hip Hop Circuit, having built up a career for himself ever since 2014. He also co-founded AllDay Music, an Indonesian collective that houses talk shows, cyphers, Rap battles, and music videos on their YouTube channel.

In many ways, Ben Utomo is a cultural leader within Indonesian Hip Hop, and of course, that means his music is great. On January 18, he released 23: The Playlist, a seven-track EP made up of tracks he made in 2023. Only one of the seven tracks made it out of the vault in 2023, ‘Jakarta Freestyle’, and the rest is brand new material.

However, via an Instagram post, Ben shared that he had already planned to release the tape in the closing stages of 2023, but “Sh*t happens.” 23: The Playlist, is also a prelude to more music dropping in 2024, as he said: “This is gonna be the first of many releases in 2024. I’m working my ass off this year.”

His fans are all eagerly waiting to listen to what he has in store, but these seven tracks will definitely ease the waiting time.
