Dope things to do in Pattaya

As people arrive for Rolling Loud’s first edition in Asia, check out LiFTED’s guide to Pattaya

LiFTED | Sabiq Rafid | 11 Apr 2023

Rolling Loud is finally headed to Asia after COVID thwarted its original plans, and the famous Hip Hop festival is making its way to the Land of Smiles. Instead of the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, Rolling Loud is in Pattaya, a coastal city approximately 100 kilometers from the capital. Pattaya is famously regarded as the Sin City of the East, with its hedonistic nightlife scene being the reason for it.

Perhaps that’s something you’d want to indulge in, or maybe you’re looking for a family-friendly fun time under the sun? Look no further, as always, LiFTED’s got you covered.

NIGHTLIFE

Walking Street

Its name quite literally speaks for itself. On this half-a-kilometer street bathed in neon lights, you’d find yourself amongst many other individuals with the same collective goal - chasing a night out. Whether you’re trying to pre-game your festival, or trying to continue on the reveling, Walking Street is definitely one of the iconic places to check out for all your partying needs. There are multiple clubs to hit within the vicinity of it, giving you plentiful options.

Pattaya Beach Club

Maybe you’re trying to escape the settings of an indoor club. Well, don’t fret. There are a bunch of open-air beach clubs in Pattaya, and Pattaya Beach Club is one of the city’s most popping. Not only are you at the beach, but you’ll also be treated to a swimming pool – and there’s nothing quite like a beach pool party.

WATERPARKS

Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark

How does revisiting your childhood while having a family-friend good time sound? Located just 15 kilometers away from South Pattaya is the Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark, where everything you know and love about a waterpark awaits you. Think slides, rafting, and live shows, all in the theme of your favorite Cartoon Network characters. This makes for a brilliant way to unwind after jumping and going nuts at a festival.

Ramayana Waterpark

Cartoons not doing it for you? Look towards Ramayana Waterpark then. It’s the biggest water park in Thailand and boasts four huge zones. Not only that, but they also offer chartered minivan services to pick you and your group up wherever you might be in Pattaya. Make sure you have a game plan and a meeting area if you do decide to head over, though. With its humongous size, you might not be able to cover every zone, and you might just lose a buddy or two navigating through them.

UNWIND

Koh Larn Beach

Perhaps you’re looking to unwind after the crazy festivities at Rolling Loud, and the allure of clubs or waterparks isn’t doing you any good. Instead, you could hop on over to Koh Larn, a little island just off the coast of Pattaya Beach. The 30-minute scenic boat ride will take you to a beach filled with activities such as parasailing and snorkeling, on top of tons of fresh seafood dining options all around you.

he Sanctuary Of Truth

Feeling like a sinner after three days of debauchery at Rolling Loud? If so, The Sanctuary Of Truth, a museum made entirely out of wood, may be just for you. Construction of the museum first began in 1981, and is projected to be completed in 2025. However, visitors are still welcome to visit, just that you’d be required to wear a hard hat. At The Sanctuary of Truth, you’d be able to see the unique structure of the museum, which is a combination of a temple and a castle.
