YuuHai & Norith reflect on a ‘Toxic’ love

It’s the Cambodian rapper’s third single of 2024

Since being crowned champion of The Rapper Cambodia in 2023, YuuHai has been hard at work proving his worth as one of the country’s brightest Hip Hop talents. His first two singles of 2024, ‘AI’ and ‘Hustle,’ were blistering feats of rapping that highlight how hungry the rapper is. He’s showing that winning a competition is only the first step to superstardom.

His latest single ‘Toxic’ with fellow emcee Norith sees him taking a detour and exploring a new, subdued sound that shows YuuHai has it in him to slow things down. The rapper does double duty as he croons on the track’s chorus with his Auto-Tuned vocals, and raps about a toxic ex-flame that burned him all those years ago. Taking a page from 2000s Hip Hop, the track oozes charisma as he brushes off the traumatic experience. Norith also matches YuuHai’s energy, breezing through his verse with a calmness of a man who has moved on from the toxicity.

The track came with a music video that’s as minimalistic as the song is crisp. Shot against a black backdrop, YuuHai raps about his heartbreak as footage of him being mistreated by his ex plays over him.
