GINJIN's ‘Yellow Django’ is the first single on LiFTED Lounge Vol. 1 EP
The Mongolian Hip Hop don drops an all-English burner
In 2012’s Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino’s take on Spaghetti Westerns, Jamie Foxx plays the lead character Django, who is a freed slave working with a bounty hunter in the Old Southern states in the US during the slavery time. Foxx is smart and cunning and has a way of always getting out of trouble in the movie that became Tarantino’s biggest box office hit and delivered him some much-deserved hardware at the end of the year.
Mongolian Hip Hop don GINJIN’s latest single is ‘Yellow Django,’ the first-track off the brand new LiFTED Lounge Vol. 1 EP. He starts off with a bang, “I’m repping my fellow Asians/Fuck motherfuckin racists” By his vocal tone and high-powered delivery, you know that GINJIN is seriously upset. The track was recorded at the beginning of the pandemic when Asian hate crimes were getting reported daily.
GINJIN took that anger and made it into a dope track and fly video. This is the first time that GINJIN has made a song in English and ‘Yellow Django’ is the start of his new international career.
The LiFTED Lounge Vol. 1 EP is out October 14. Get the music here.
