Star2 is a survivor. He was born in a Thai refugee camp after fleeing a brutal genocide by the Burmese army in Myanmar, who burned his village to the ground and killed his parents in the middle of the night. He made it to San Diego with his grandmother, where he found solace in music. Now, Star2 is highlighting his people, the Ka-ren music community.

No Place Like Home is Star2’s latest EP. Headlining the seven songs is ‘MAMACITA,’ a Latin-tinged summer jam with Luh Kel and Luii Sodolo. Like the name, it’s a song about the ladies, for the ladies, and with parts for the ladies to scream the lyrics.

In the video, Josh the artist animates all three of the MCs plus their love interests. They roll in their 2D world in convertibles, ride yachts, talk about getting busy in the back seats, and make it rain at strip clubs. ‘MAMACITA’ is a light-hearted look at summertime love.
