On the back of hitting 15 million views on his song ‘Choosy’ last week, Sica rings in the new year with a stunning two-part single ‘eskinita jazz / cesar montana.’ As one of the Philippines’ brightest underground talents, Sica’s career has seen high after high, culminating in his 2024 sophomore album, Go See God, which saw him embrace his talents as a wordsmith.

‘eskinita jazz / cesar montana’ continues his trajectory upwards while showcasing his versatility as he glides over a 1990s Boom Bap beat in the first half and explodes on the Trap production in the second. Much like ‘Life is Good’ by Future and Drake, the single doesn’t overstay its welcome on either side. The fleeting presence of each makes listeners yearn for more of both.

The music video is no different as we see Sica casually strolling up to his ride alongside his posse before the editing trips out into an abstract rapid-fire meme world. The confidence in his craft is on full display here, and it’s incredibly exciting to see where Sica will take his sound going forward.
