It’s always nerve-racking to take a festival brand into a new market. There are so many behind-the-scenes logistical challenges, new regulations, and a lot of problems that pop up out of nowhere. This is doubly true in India, where chaos is a daily part of life. This is what also makes India so special, and made the first-ever Rolling Loud India such a success.

More than 65,000 attended the festival at Loud Park in Mumbai over two days, setting the record for Hip Hop events in India. Right before Karan Aujla’s set, Rolling Loud head Tariq Cherif got on the mic asking and announcing “Is it cool if we come back next year? We’re coming right back here to Mumbai!”

Rahul Ganjoo, head of District by Zomato, who helped Rolling Loud put on the show, said, “This weekend answered the question of how ready India is for live experiences. This was louder, bigger, and bolder than we imagined. India didn’t just show up; it set a new benchmark.”

With performances by Central Cee, Wiz Khalifa, Don Toliver, as well as locals like DIVINE, Reble, Wild Wild Women, AR Paisley, Yung Raja, and more, Rolling Loud came roaring out of the gate proving that India is a force to be reckoned with in the global Hip Hop scene.
