The Jamaican sound system culture is unlike anything else in the world. Crews go up against each other on a musical battleground until the crowd crowns one sound system the winner with their cheers. The experience is unlike anything else in the world and earns respect and a reputation for the winner.

Red Bull has been putting on Culture Clashes for nearly 15 years and they have the juice to get big names involved like Just Blaze, Major Lazer, Wiz Khalifa, and more. On June 1 in New York City, the Red Bull Culture Clash is going down, but this time it’s a little bit different. Instead of getting headliners like Snoop Dogg on the stage, they are inviting the four biggest parades in New York City to battle each other on separate stages. What does that mean? It means that it’s the West Indian Day Parade vs. the Pride March vs. The Puerto Rican Day Parade vs. The Lunar New Year Parade.

WHHHHHAAAAAAAAAT?

Is that even legal? Can you put the West Indians versus the Puerto Ricans versus the gays versus the Asians in 2024? Will this Culture Clash be canceled before it even starts? That’s the genius of the Red Bull marketing team. They have the vision, guts, and the ability to make this happen.

The Pride March is led by Papi Juice, which is a music and arts collective aiming to affirm and celebrate the lives of queer and trans people of color. The West Indian Day Parade is helmed by No Long Talk, a crew that is dedicated to championing Caribbean sounds around the world. In this crew is DeeJay Puffy, one of the elite DJs in the world who has won the Red Bull 3style championship, and rocks every party on Earth.

Remezcla is the leader of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, which has superstars Tony Touch, Nina Sky, and more on their stage. The Lunar New Year Parade is conducted by Eastern Standard Time whose goal is to make the East standard. On their stage, Ted Park, Bohan Phoenix, P-Lo, as well as a few other Asian stars will be creating a unified voice and community that people will look to for the representation they never had.

There are four rounds where the sound systems will bring their best songs and fiercest competition to win over the crowd. Only one crew will be crowned the Red Bull Culture Clash champion.
