In a week that had global news media on their seats about a US election, there was some good news from Down Under - Olympic sensation B-girl Raygun has decided to hang up her tracksuit for good.
On the Jimmy and Nath Show, Raygun discussed her experiences during the Olympics, the conspiracy theories that she was an industry plant to make Breaking look bad, and whether she would ever compete again. "No. I still break but I don't compete. I think the level of scrutiny that's going to be there...it's just not going to mean the same thing. It's not going to be the same experience because of everything that's at stake."
After the Olympics, Raygun was ranked the number one B-girl in the world, which was extremely disrespectful to B-girls Ami, Nicka, and 671, who won the gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively. Raygun was known for being original, but much less skilled than the other breakers. The memes became a running joke and were hard on her as well as the breaking community at large.
Hopefully this is the last time that LiFTED covers B-girl Raygun.
