To run a festival the size of Rolling Loud is not an easy task. Each time the festival goes to a new country, it gets some local promoters on board to help with everything from ticket sales to logistics to booking acts, but this doesn’t always go smoothly.
In Australia, Rolling Loud debuted in 2019 with an incredibly stacked lineup of Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Tyga, Smokepurpp, and more. In 2024, Rolling Stone Australia was planned, but merely weeks after the announcement, the festival was postponed to 2025. In October 2025, a two-day festival was announced for March 7 and 8 for Sydney and Melbourne with Gunna, Ken Carson, Sexyy Red, Tyla, Swae Lee, Lil Tjay, Quavo, and more on board.
On Friday, February 27, Rolling Loud announced on social media that Rolling Loud Australia would not be moving forward less than 10 days out. They blamed local partners, Primuse Entertainment, for failing to meet critical payment deadlines and related obligations.
Primuse Entertainment replied that they were mischaracterized by Rolling Loud. They stated, “While there are differing views regarding the circumstances that led to this outcome, we stand firmly by the manner in which we have conducted ourselves throughout this process. Primuse acted in good faith throughout and made reasonable efforts to deliver a successful event for fans, artists and partners, with the intention of ensuring the festival could proceed as planned.
This one hurts because Australia has been waiting and waiting for Rolling Loud, and now they won’t get for a long time.
