Footwear is what completes a wardrobe and makes people look extra fly. In the 1300s in Korea, most commoners wore straw shoes or wooden clogs. The noble class and royalty upped their shoe game by wearing leather boots or low-rise shoes called Gatsins. These expensive kicks had elaborate patterns and colors, as well as recognizable curls on the toe.

Over the years, more people started wearing leather shoes and Gatsins became popular with everyone. But in the 1920s and 1930s in Korea, Gatsins went out of style as rubber shoes and Westernized shoes became all the rage.

Now, Adidas is taking it back as it has announced the City of Seoul Gazelles that takes inspiration from Korean Gatsins. These shoes have an old-school look with a modern feel. There are two colorways [black and white], and the shoes are only available in the Asian region.

The Adidas Gazelle Gatsins are available here.
