Post Malone BIG ASS Stadium Tour hits Asia in September
Does Asia want County Posty or Hip Hop Posty?
In 2018, Post Malone hit the White Stage at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan at 8pm. There was a mad rush to see him after N.E.R.D. had just performed at the biggest stage, the Green Stage. Madness ensued, including Post being hit by a beer can and drinking that same beer from his shoe, but the overall feeling was that this guy loved music and people. He played with only backing tracks and was so happy to be there that he won the crowd over instantly with his folksy charm.
In less than eight years, Post Malone has become one of the biggest names in modern music, but that comes with a twist. Post started his career off as the ‘White Iverson,’ a caucasian dude with braids who had a soulful voice and a knack for making party anthems. Over those eight years, things have changed and Posty has gone full Country. This includes cowboy hats, Country albums, and tours with the biggest Country artists in the world like Jelly Roll.
Now, Post Malone will be taking his BIG ASS Stadium Tour to Asia in September from September 16 to October 6. He’ll play Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, and Tokyo in that time. Now the only question is if he’ll be going all the way Country on the Asian leg of the tour.
The answer hopefully lies in the opening act, Don Toliver. As a headliner of Rolling Loud this year in America, Toliver is skyrocketing up the charts with his brand of Rage Hip Hop. Hopefully, with Toliver getting the crowd warm, Posty stays mostly in the Hip Hop lane and keeps the Country in the Western Hemisphere.
