NIGO curates cliffside NOT A HOTEL TOKYO with KAWS
The pristine getaway has stunning views of Mt. Fuji
NIGO is the curator of everything cool in Japan and he’s outdone himself this time with a little help from KAWS. NOT A HOTEL is a startup company that puts guests in stunning places to stay instead of ordinary hospitality. On Tokyo Bay, less than an hour from the city center, NIGO has created a stunning NOT A HOTEL TOKYO, a stunning residence built into a cliff with floor-to-ceiling windows viewing Mt. Fuji. On the top of the property, a giant steel KAWS statue appears on the roof overlooking the bay.
Inside, NIGO has curated the whole place, even down to the smallest details. Cars go straight into the property, the living room has top-of-the-line vintage furniture, the pool has a huge HUMAN MADE duck, and there are even Japanese sleeping pods for guests.
In a press release, NIGO said, “With the increase of overseas visitors to Tokyo, I’m excited to support the opening of NOT A HOTEL TOKYO — truly my ultimate ideal for a living space, made with the highest levels of perfection and detail, in an extremely enticing location. My worldview is contained in this house. I believe that a home needs people inside to be meaningful and ‘alive,’ and so I look forward to the day when owners begin staying there.”
