NIGO announced as FamilyMart’s creative director

The first collab will happen next spring

LiFTED | Marcus Aurelius | 7 Feb 2025

In our predictions for 2024, LiFTED listed convenience wear as one thing that would really pop off in 2024. Mainly this was because instead of paper underwear and lightweight T-shirts, Family Mart introduced single-use socks that were stylish, and there was even a fashion show in a FamilyMart.

Now, making our prediction very true, Japanese multi-hyphenate NIGO is now the creative director of FamilyMart. In announcing this partnership, he said, “As Japan continues to garner global attention, convenience stores best embody Japan's unique lifestyle and culture. FamilyMart respects creativity and continuously challenges itself to pursue innovation. It is a great honor to announce our partnership with FamilyMart on February 5, 2025. Together, I hope to bring joy to the daily lives of people in Japan and across the globe.”

Does this mean that FamilyMarts will be selling Bape’s Full Shark hoodie? Will we see Pharrell working behind the register next spring when the first collab is expected to happen? Only time will tell for this exciting partnership.
