MNNK BRO release hallucinogenic video & soundtrack for ‘LV MURAKAMI’
JP THE WAVY & Takashi Murakami trip out for Louis Vuitton
A few weeks ago, Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami unveiled a commercial during Paris Fashion Week that had him sending a RAZR phone to the hottest woman on the planet at the moment, Zendaya. While the spot focused on the fact that Murakami and LV are back together again after collabing in 2003, there were a few times when snippets of music were played that had people wondering what the songs were. The answer is ‘LV MURAKAMI’ by MNNK BRO, the group consisting of the artist and Japanese rapper JP THE WAVY.
The hallucinogenic video has just been released and it pushes the limits of what people can do with the visual form in 2025. Visionary director duo BRTHR, known for their work on Travis Scott's ‘Butterfly Effect’ and Joji's ‘Yukon [Interlude],’ takes a trip into Murakami’s brain waves with JIGG on the beat and Wavy on the words. As soon as JP gets into a Murakami-wrapped taxi, he ends up in the space between LV’s world-famous Monogram Multicolore and Murakami’s Superflat characters. Wavy flips through 3D and anime worlds and ends up becoming one with Murakami in the space.
As Murakami creates art, Wavy creates music, and BRTHR creates stunning visuals, ‘LV MURAKAMI’ coalesces into one for the ages.
