lilKrake & Irie Givens take abandoned warehouse vibes to the next level on ‘I’m So BEYOND’

At the end of last summer, Taiwanese MC lilKrake and American-Jamaican Irie Givens went to the Taiwan-government sponsored MADSTREET party and walked away champions. They won a big check with their single ‘I’m So BEYOND,’ so now, half a year later, they’ve put out the song with the accompanying visuals.

lilKrake is an underground and experimental MC. His mantra is that he has no money for anything, so he wants to collab with anyone and everyone to get cool things made. On ‘I’m So BEYOND,’ he does just that as he gets to share mic duties with Irie Givens from the Lo-Fi Language Learning Institute, who brought a crew of rappers to Taiwan so they could see what Hip Hop is like in another country. One of his speakers and judges was lilKrake and along the way, ‘I’m So BEYOND’ was created.

The video, besides having dope verses from both MCs, brings out all the weirdos and freaks from Taiwan’s vibrant music scene to hype the rappers, spit fire bombs in the air, and basically make an abandoned warehouse surrounded by industrial machines the coolest place to have a dance party. ‘I’m So BEYOND’ shows that big budgets and elaborate stage designs aren’t needed when you have a crew of people who want to act crazy for the cameras for a few hours.
