Have yourselves a merry Squid Game Christmas
The Korean thriller is back to dominate the holidays
If you have stepped into any store recently, you’ve had to notice the Squid Game potato chips next to the Squid Game soda on the same shelf as the Squid Game chocolate bars. The diabolical drama in it’s second season is taking over Christmas in 2024 like it took over Halloween in 2021.
Recently, KAWS, Netflix, and AllRightsReserved have collabed on YOUNG-HEE, the oversized doll that killed anyone who moved in the Red Light, Green Light Game. Instead of the regular doll head, KAWS puts his signature X on the doll’s eyes and hands, and makes it look a lot like Companion, his main character on display all around the world.
Puma has jumped into the Squid Game mix as well with a fresh-to-death zip-up tracksuit in deep green. Of course, there are some Easy Rider sneakers to match and each one comes with Squid Game accessories.
Many other brands have jumped onto the Squid Game bandwagon, as there are Squid Game mini-wontons, skincare and cosmetics, Crocs with Squid Game Jibbitz, and even Johnny Walker Green Label whisky randomly numbered like the players in the series.
While this is just a minuscule taste of the Squid Game marketing for Christmas, it seems Netflix is making sure that everyone knows that the new season is coming on December 26.
