kZm returns with the Pop-tinged King Of Nostalgia EP

It’s the Japanese rapper’s first project since 2024’s DESTRUCTION

For years, kZm has built his name on a sound steeped in grit, through sharp, bass-heavy beats that carry his rapid-fire delivery. But with King of Nostalgia, his latest four-track EP, the Japanese rapper pivots into brighter territory, revealing a softer and more melodic side of his artistry.

From the opening track, it’s clear this is a departure from his last album, DESTRUCTION. The production leans toward airy synths, crisp percussion, and hooks that linger long after the song ends. Lead single ‘AMANOJAKU’ with JUMADIBA shimmers with a summer-lightness as they alternate between playfulness and bittersweet reflection.

Throughout the EP, the Pop sensibilities are conscious lenses for storytelling. The melodies feel expansive as they frame lyrics that wrestle with nostalgia—not as a longing to return, but as a quiet acceptance that the past can never be relived. This emotional duality gives the record its depth as one moment it is playful and then tender the next.

King of Nostalgia doesn’t just mark a stylistic detour. It signals an artist willing to evolve, finding beauty in vulnerability without losing the pulse that’s always driven his music.
