Kiyo, Guddhist Gunatita, Jrldm & Alisson Shore find solace on 'ULAP'

4 Filipino MCs trade bravado for reassurance

'ULAP' arrives less like a posse cut and more like four Filipino friends talking each other down from a spiral. Kiyo brings together Guddhist Gunatita, Jrldm, and Alisson Shore for a song that trades flexing for exhaling, built around comfort rather than competition.

The beat has a fingerpicked guitar carrying the whole track, with percussion kept minimal and mixed low. It's a texture that recalls Nas, 2Pac, and J. Phoenix's 'Thugz Mansion' where Hip Hop is stripped of its bravado, rapping eases into singing, and the mood stays serene even when the lyrics feel heavy.

That calm holds space for real unease. "Naglalaro ang aking isip, na para bang nananaginip" ["My mind keeps racing, like I'm caught in a dream"] one verse opens, before the song works through isolation, self-doubt, and the fear of asking for help. It resolves on reassurance, "Lagi mong isipin, balang araw papanik" ["Always remember, someday you'll rise."]

Each rapper leans into melody over bars. Kiyo's easy, singsong delivery sets the tone, while Guddhist Gunatita and Jrldm settle into the same unhurried pocket and Alisson Shore rounds out the hook. Nobody reaches for a highlight verse and the song works because everyone plays it soft. ‘ULAP’ is rare because there are four distinct voices making room for each other instead of competing for space.
