Kazuo is not your average Asian Hip Hop artist. He’s Blasian, so right off the bat that makes him different. Then, he doesn’t subscribe to what’s popular like Trap and Drill. Instead, he clears his own path forward and makes the music that he likes.
In his latest song, ‘J-RAP!,’ Kazuo switches between Japanese and English like he flips between Japan and NYC. He’s a lyrical dynamo on the track and has a few standout lines including, “I’m in her guts like harakiri” and “My life is like a Japanese porn, can’t see you P*#&&ies.”
The beat, which Kazuo produced with Ionika, has a mosh pit urgency with a few Dubstep drops. Looking at ‘J-RAP!’ as well as ‘SUGO!’ and ‘Baka!,’ it feels like Kazuo should be auditioning for a much-needed band that is about to save Rock & Roll.
