This sequel is 8 years in the making

Japanese rapper ISSUGI and producer GRADIS NICE have returned with a sequel to their much-loved album eight years ago – Day'N'Nite 2. Released under DOGEAR RECORDS, this 12-track album is steeped in the influence of 2000’s New York Hip Hop, channeling the gritty, authentic sounds of that era, reminiscent of artists like 50 Cent, Mobb Deep, and the grimy version of Nas. The production, helmed entirely by GRADIS NICE after his recent return from New York, captures the raw energy and soulful realism fans expect with a nostalgic yet contemporary flair.

Day'N'Nite 2 includes collaborations with notable names in the Japanese Rap scene, including Senninshou, BES, 5lack, JJJ, SPARTA, Sadajyo, Epic, Eujin, and 16FLIP. Each guest maintains the suitably grimy aesthetic, delivering narrative-driven bars and punchlines, which points back to the golden age of Hip Hop. The title track and single, ‘Day'N'Nite 2,’ embodies the album's essence with its hard-hitting beats and evocative lyrics, reflecting ISSUGI and GRADIS NICE’s musical synergy.

The album’s release will be commemorated with a live performance on November 8 at WWW X in Tokyo’s Shibuya, featuring live appearances from guest artists and a DJ set by GRADIS NICE and SCRATCH NICE. A national tour is set to follow too in support of Day'N'Nite 2.
