Ginjin ‘Takes a Chance’ to collab with Taiwan’s King Chain & Erin

King Chain proves he's not scared to push musical boundaries

For music to sound full, there needs to be a bit of heavy bass mixed with high-end. Mongolia’s Ginjin, who has a sub-woofer-like deep voice, raps on King Chain’s latest, ‘Take a Chance.’ His low end complements the singing of Erin, from the Pop group HUR, to make the song sound three-dimensional.

Instead of another ordinary Pop or Hip Hop song, King Chain proves he’s not afraid to push musical boundaries. Ginjin, who calls Taiwan his second home and interpolates MC HotDog’s classic ‘Wo Ai Tai Mei,’ starts by rapping over a Trap beat. Once the chorus kicks in, all the guardrails are off as Erin sings over a festival-ready combo of Drum & Bass and Jersey Club sound. In the second verse, Erin goes first and Ginjin raps second about stacking that loot while the music switches between half-time and double-time.

The video was shot in an abandoned building and on Shalun Beach at night in Tamshui, Taiwan, and goes all in with the glitchy, end-of-the-world vibes the song gives out.

King Chain, Erin, and Ginjin prove they all are willing to ‘Take a Chance’ by giving a song that sounds very underground a chance to see the light of day.
