moon sounds like the future on UNCHARTED VOL.1 EP
The Vietnamese, Chadian & Senegalese rapper flows in English, French & Korean
It’s rare when watching an artist's video for the first time to know that they are going to be a superstar. Here’s the Vietnamese, Chadian, and Senegalese rapper moon in her ‘SHOOT’ video, released three months ago.
MIND BLOWN!
Not only does the song take a dope sample [Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’] and Drills it out, but the style, choreography, and rapping are all outstanding. Luckily for listeners, there is more where that came from. moon released her six-song EP UUNCHARTED VOL.1 last week and like her own cultural blend, the EP is a mix of Afrobeats, Drill, and Trap in the right ways.
The EP sounds the alarms with ‘COMPANY NET’ that catches the groove so hard that if your neck is not snapping when you hear it, you might be dead inside. ‘HE AIN’T ENOUGH’ slows the tempo to an R&B Drill vibe. ‘SHOOT Remix’ adds NSW yoon to the already fire track from above. The last three tracks are dope as well and when one is done listening to the EP, it is necessary to hit repeat a few more times.
moon is a combination of different heritages, and she takes that and amalgamates it into her music. Whatever people want to call it - Asian Hip Hop Drill Trap with an Afro twist - moon sounds like the future and the future is now.
