Got beats? ComplexCon adds BRING A DEMO with Lupe Fiasco, MC Jin & Vince

The 2-day event keeps expanding the playbook

ComplexCon isn’t your typical music festival. Every year the event finds new ways to blur the lines between performance, culture, and participation. Alongside musical acts like Yeat, Jeannie, and Skai ISYOURGOD, the festival keeps adding experiences that go beyond simply watching artists on stage.

The latest addition is BRING A DEMO, an interactive showcase designed for producers who want to put their beats to the ultimate test. Three established artists—Lupe Fiasco, MC Jin, and Vince–will sit down and listen as three producers each play two demos live in front of a crowd of about 400 people. After each playback, the artists will give unfiltered feedback on the spot.

For unknown producers, it’s a rare chance to get real-time advice from artists who have sold millions of records and helped shape the culture. It’s also a chance to get your name out there quickly on one of the biggest stages in street culture.

Of course, it cuts both ways. If the beat knocks, one of the artists might decide to jump on it—and suddenly that producer has a record with a major rapper. But if the demo falls flat, the critique will happen live, in front of a crowd and plenty of cameras.

High risk. High reward.

Either way, BRING A DEMO pushes Hip Hop festivals into new territory by giving creators a real seat at the table instead of keeping them on the sidelines. If you’re heading to ComplexCon, this might end up being one of the most compelling events of the weekend.
