Over the past four years, LiFTED has seen its share of moments. This is a time when upon first viewing or listening, it feels like something is going to blow up globally. VannDa had it with ‘Time to Rise.’ Yuki Chiba got all of Asia to make a video for ‘Team Tomodochi.’ Humankind blew people’s minds with the video for ‘Big Dawgs.’

Now, two of the most hardworking and creative artists in the Asian Hip Hop space have collabed for their moment. Shan Vincent de Paul and Yung Raja are ready to take things worldwide with ‘AIYO!!,’ a lucid dream of a video determined to get to the bottom of Alice’s rabbit hole. For a whole year, the two MCs and their camera crews shoot in other-worldly places, perform together and separately, and make scenes that defy space and time. The editing is so fast-paced that it feels like the mushrooms are going from microdosing to macrodosing in real time.

Shan Vincent de Paul is up first and his conscious lyrics fit perfectly with the mind-melting visuals. Raja pulls up second and complements SVDP’s flow. The track is good but it’s all about the video here. There are explosions, a gold-plated drifting car, and a motorcycle on fire. And that’s just in the first 10 seconds.

The first watch is dope, but ‘AIYO!!’ gets better with repeated viewings.
