Wunderkid. Child prodigy. Whiz kid. These are all terms to describe 16-year-old Chinese B-girl Royal, who did something amazing this past weekend at the 2025 WDSF Breaking Championship–she won the youth and adult divisions within 24 hours–all while battling on her home soil.

Royal is now the breakout star in Breaking, hopefully washing the nasty taste of B-girl Raygun out of people’s mouths. On Saturday, June 28, Royal won the youth division and decided to battle again on Sunday in the adult division. The battle was stacked with Korean, Japanese, and Chinese B-girls who had been in the Olympics or gotten very close.

In the end, Royal reigned supreme as she defeated her Chinese teammate and Bronze medalist B-Girl 671 in the semi-finals and Japanese star B-Girl Riko in the finals. With an extra pep in her step and pop in her lock, Royal is the future of Asian Breaking. After the finals, she said, "I felt today's battles were even tougher than yesterday. But I truly danced for myself this time. I was relaxed, happy, and focused on expressing who I am. I hope I can represent my country more on the international stage in the future."
