Binz has been one of Vietnam’s biggest MCs for many years, and his biggest song, ‘Bigcityboi’ with TOULIVER is massive with nearly 100 million views on YouTube over three years. On September 22, the Hollywood action flick Expend4bles was released globally, and it featured a scene with ‘Bigcityboi’ playing in the background. This marks Vietnamese Hip Hop’s first Hollywood feature.

SpaceSpeakers, Binz’s production crew, put out a press release announcing the momentous event. “We feel very honored and grateful for this special collaboration with the film crew. Hopefully, the feature of a Vietnamese Rap song in the movie Expend4bles will become a stepping stone in the journey to build the foundation of Vietnamese music in the global market, contributing to expanding the international audience for rapper Binz in particular and Vietnamese artists in general. In addition, this cooperation is also one of the positive signals in building the musical direction that SpaceSpeakers artists are pursuing"

While it’s a great day for Binz and Vietnamese Hip Hop, Hollywood has come knocking on Asian Hip Hop’s door before. JP The Wavy had his track ‘Bushido’ featured in Fast and Furious 9, and Shanti Dope ‘Amatz’ was in Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

This is the fourth edition of the Expendables series which stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, 50 Cent, Megan Fox, and more.
